The Lt. Michael P. Quinn Scholarship Fund was established in 1969 to perpetuate the noble courage and character of Lt. Michael P. Quinn, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country on August 29, 1969 in Vietnam. The scholarship fund's purpose is to commemorate Lt. Quinn's exemplary life by providing financial support for the Charlestown youth who embody the same core values as Lt. Quinn- namely, academic excellence, athletic achievement, and responsible citizenship.

Since the scholarship's creation, more than a quarter of a million dollars has been distributed to over 50 students, enabling the next generation of Charlestown youth to excel unencumbered by the financial strains of higher education.​

Dinner Dance

The 56th annual dinner dance will be held at the Charlestown Knights of Columbus in honor of the 2024 Lt. Quinn Scholarship winner, Julia Pistorino!

The featured speaker will be Brigadier General Matthew W Tracy, USMC, General Education Command and President of Marine Corps University
​

Meet the 2025 Quinn Scholar
Grace
Gans-Linnane

The Quinn Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce Grace Gan-Linnane as the the 2025 Quinn Scholar.​​ Grace is a first in three categories: our first recipient from East Boston High School; the first winner who will be attending Assumption University from 2025-2029; and the first winner of our enhanced scholarship of $20,000!

Grace maintained a 3.4 GPA, while captaining the cheerleading, basketball, and softball teams! While accomplishing all of this, Grace still found time to hostess at the Warren Tavern, assist at the Charlestown Community Center, and also work at Baby Boyle Banquets! Grace is intending to focus her studies to support a future career in sports management.

The Quinn Scholarship Committee extends our hearty congratulations to Grace! The words of Edward Everett Hale reflect Grace’s character best, “Look up and not down, look out and not in, look forward and not back and lend a hand."
