The Lt. Michael P. Quinn Scholarship Fund was established in 1969 to perpetuate the noble courage and character of Lt. Michael P. Quinn, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country on August 29, 1969 in Vietnam. The scholarship fund's purpose is to commemorate Lt. Quinn's exemplary life by providing financial support for the Charlestown youth who embody the same core values as Lt. Quinn- namely, academic excellence, athletic achievement, and responsible citizenship.

Since the scholarship's creation, more than a quarter of a million dollars has been distributed to over 50 students, enabling the next generation of Charlestown youth to excel unencumbered by the financial strains of higher education.
